Harmonizing Heart and Mind: Mastering Self through Rhythms and Articulation

How much do you think about your heart?

Since before you were born, that miraculous machine has been steadily pumping life throughout your body — at least 15,000 beats each day to help keep you alive. It's an amazing tool because you can both control it (i.e. breathwork) and let it do its thing.

Not only does your deliver essential nutrients to every cell, tissue, and organ, but your heart's pulse also regulates your emotional energy.

A strong even pace can bring a sense of calm.

A rapid staccato can panic even the healthiest person.

Your heart is directly sending you messages — your body is always speaking to you.

From birth, your heart is constantly sending messages about the state of your well-being. It's intimately attuned to the subtlest shifts of your physical or emotional state.

When it sends out a warning, every part of you feels the effect. It's an ever-vigilant internal alarm! But, most of us aren't listening.

If you're in a constant state of high alert, you may experience devastating effects on your health: anxiety, depression, stroke, heart disease, and more.

If you're a high-achieving person used to saying "yes" to every opportunity, you may be numbing out to the signs your body is sending to you that it's time to write a new chapter for your life.

Maybe you're soothing with food.
Maybe you're soothing with alcohol.
Maybe you're soothing with staying busy.
Maybe you're soothing with trying to be in control.
Maybe you're soothing by pursuing perfection.

How can you live with your own rhythms?

How can you pull back?

How can you learn to say "no?"

How can you put a barrier around people who drain you?

Notice when your state of calm is invaded by others, and what happens to you...

You may become irritable, anxiety-prone, and distressed about making decisions.

So, the quickest way to get back to your own rhythm is ________.

Knowing how to fill in the ^ blank is learning how to master yourself.

Maybe it's nature.
Maybe it's music.
Maybe it's laughter.
Maybe it's cooking.

Do you know how to articulate this?

There's something that naturally soothes you to regulate your heart and mind. It helps you stay open to the goodness within you and the world.

And, understanding this is how you write a new chapter in your life. The mindset, the clarity, and the ability to articulate this for yourself is creating ownership of your future and bypassing so much that's holding you back.

I've got an easy technique for cutting negative energy that no one can see, so you can do it in an office meeting or when you're out in public. Send me a message if you'd like the simple practice.
